If you want to become a Muslim, then the first step you should take is to learn about Islam. Before adopting Islam, you should be aware of its teachings, the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). You should know about the Holy Quran, the Day of judgment, the angels, and many more teachings of Islam. You should study Islam to know about it if you want to adopt it.
2. Self-Reflection
Leaving one’s religion is quite a hard decision for anyone to make. After studying Islam you should think yourself, whether you want to adopt it or not. It is an important step because you have to keep all the aspects of your life in your mind then you decide because it is a life-changing decision.
3. Find a Local Mosque:
A mosque is a place where Muslims offer prayer and from where you can learn many things about Islam. A mosque is a place from where you can seek guidance about Islam and from a mosque you can adopt Islam also. So, after the decision to adopt Islam, you should find a mosque near you.
4. Visit the Mosque
A mosque is an important part of a Muslim society. Almost every Muslim society, town, or village contains at least 2 or 3 mosques. If you want to visit a mosque, you can find a mosque easily. After you find it, you should visit the mosque to understand Islam clearly.
5. Contact the Imam:
An Imam is the person who leads the prayer in the mosques. He is a person who can tell you the significance of Islamic teachings. He can guide you that anyone cannot. An Imam plays a significant role in the process of embracing Islam. So, you should contact an imam to understand Islam deeply. It can have a key role in this process.
6. Meet with the Imam:
A physical meeting is better than an online one. You can explore many more things about Islam if you visit a mosque and meet the Imam of the mosque. He can be helpful to you in this life-changing decision. This will make you much closer to Islam and the teachings of Islam. Therefore, the best way to consult the Imam is to meet him physically in the mosque or anywhere you find him.
7. Declaration of Faith (Shahada):
The Shahada is the declaration of your faith. It is the basic step in becoming a Muslim. Without declaring Shahada, you cannot become a Muslim at all.
You just have to say;
اَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُہ وَرَسُوْلُہ
These are the words that are necessary to recite for a person who wants to become a Muslim.
8. Witnesses:
It includes the basic beliefs of Islam and its witnesses. It contains two supplications, Sift EEman e Mufassal and Sift Eeman e Mujmil.
Eeman e Mufassil is as follows;
اٰمَنْتُ بِاﷲِ وَمَلَائِکَتِه وَ کُتُبِه وَ رُسُلِه وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَالْقَدْرِ خَيْرِه وَ شَرِّه مِنَ اﷲِ تَعَالٰی وَالْبَعْثِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْت
Translation:
I believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and in the Taqdir, that all good and bad is from Allah the Most High and I believe in the resurrection after death.
Sift Eeman e Mujmil:
امَنْتُ بِاللهِ كَمَا هُوَ بِاَسْمَائِه وَصِفَاتِه وَقَبِلْتُ جَمِيْعَ اَحْكَامِه وَاَرْكَانِه
Kalima Astagfar Meaning in English:
I have faith in Allah as He is known by His Names and attributes and I accept all His commands.
9. Choosing a Muslim Name:
The next step, after embracing Islam properly, is to choose a Muslim name for yourself. A name is a man’s basic identity. When you become a Muslim by heart, you should change your basic identity, i.e. your name. You should choose a Muslim name for yourself.
10. Embrace Islamic Practices:
The next step is one of the most significant steps in the process of embracing Islam. If you want to become a Muslim, you should embrace Islamic practices practically.

11. Learn About Islamic Jurisprudence:
Islamic jurisprudence and law have a specific degree in it. Islamic laws are called the Fiqh. There are four dominant classes of fiqhs that Muslims all around the world follow. A converted Muslim should learn about Islamic Fiqh.
12. Be a part of the Muslim Community:
Muslims around the globe form a Muslim community. A person who wants to become a Muslim should have to follow the Muslim community. That can help maintain a circle within the Muslim community.
13. Seek Knowledge:
