The Sunnah of the Holy Prophet SAW has also referred to the sacredness of the first ten days of Zilhaj. Following Hadith of Ibn Abbas narrated that the messenger of Allah SWT, the Holy Prophet SAW said: There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days (first ten days of Dhul- Hijjah). They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back. The prophet of Allah mentioned a tremendous reward specifically for the one who fasts on the day of Arafah: Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah absolves the sins for 2 years: the previous year and therefore the coming year.
