1. Avoid Jealousy
According to the Quran tutors at QuranHost, the emotion called jealousy can be so powerful that it causes families and even communities to break up. This is what happened when Prophet Yusuf’s brothers felt jealous. Prophet Yaqoob their father, forbade Prophet Yusuf A.S. from telling anyone his dream. The brothers became obsessed with removing Prophet Yusuf from their father’s life so that he (Yaqoob) can love them more. The Quran says:
He said, “O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy. – Surah Yusuf, verse 5

2. Have faith in Allah S.W.A. and Be Patient
During his lifetime, Yusuf A.S. suffered numerous incidences, and never lost faith in Allah. He was imprisoned, and spent numerous years in suffering but stayed calm and hopeful. You can get more guidance in online Quran classes at QuranHost.
3. Never Disobey Allah, Instead Face the Hardship
Prophet Yusuf knew he would be safe from the desires and entrapments of the Pharoah’s wife while he endured in the prison, so he did. He preferred to face that suffering instead of displeasing Allah S.W.A.
4. Forgive Because Allah Likes Forgiveness
After so much suffering fate took a turn and Yusuf A.S. became the Ruler or King of Egypt. His brothers came before him after years of separation and Prophet Yusuf forgave them. The Quranic verse says:
He said, “No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you, and He is the most merciful of the merciful.” – Surah Yusuf, verse 92.

5. Save Yourself from Sin with All Your Strength
Prophet Yusuf A.S. was beautiful in every way; no woman could resist him. This made the Pharaoh’s wife Zulaikha do so much wrong to him. Nonetheless, he did everything to protect his chastity and did not commit sin.
She closed the doors and said, “Come, you.” He said, “[I seek] the refuge of Allah. Indeed, he is my master, who has made good my residence. Indeed, wrongdoers will not succeed.” – Surah Yusuf, verse 23
In the end, we should all pray for Allah’s guidance and learn lessons from the stories of all prophets in the Quran.
